Authenticity is more important than ever and cannot be manufactured. We need to provide the audience something real to grab on to and that's difficult to do when edges are smoothed and slippery. The "Secret Sauce" is just meeting the audience where they are and earning their sustained attention built on the integrity of the intention behind why this video exists in the first place.
I’m interested in working with people who want to use video to share ideas and stories with an audience.
Back in college, I discovered I had a knack for video editing. Humans are fascinating, so I decided to minor in Psychology. I always liked puzzles too, and now everything was converging into the art of assembling video puzzle pieces into stories and connecting with the audience in a meaningful way.
To complement editing, I developed a "shoot-to-edit" production style. It's sort of a slimmed-down unscripted documentary filmmaking approach gathering interviews, b-roll, and sound bytes. Capture that "slice of life" to help transport the audience and feel what it's like. For best results, I feel it's essential for everyone involved both behind the scenes and on-screen to feel connected on a human level, because this emotional bond will bake authenticity into the footage.
